Books to read now

The following are some of my favorite books recently. They are uplifting and offer advice for personal growth. Let me know what I should read next!

Happy People Read and Drink Coffee by Agnès Martin-Lugand

This French novelist has a writing style that is perfect for a beach read or an afternoon out on the patio. Her novels are intriguing, but easy enough to flip through quickly. I became emotionally attached to the characters in her books as she does a very good job with their development.

Don’t Worry, Life is Easy by Agès Martin-Lugand

This is the sequel to Happy People Read and Drink Coffee. I recommend ordering it at the same time because you’ll want to start it immediately!

The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

I haven’t even finished this one and I’m already recommending it if that says anything! This is a very religious-focused book that was ahead of its time on the topic of purpose and passions. It is meant to be  read across a span of 40 days and each day ends with a Question to Consider. I enjoy taking time each morning to read a short chapter and write down my answers.

Miracle at the Higher Grounds Cafe by Max Lucado

This book dives into the story of a cafe owner and her relationship with a guardian angel. These types of plots need careful attention to not become cheesy, but I can promise this one is not. The message is uplifting and is great for coffee enthusiasts.

Becoming by Michelle Obama

A majority of you have probably already read this, but it’s worth mentioning for those who haven’t. I keep these book in my car to read whenever I have a lull or decide to pop into a coffee shop (pre-quarantine). It is a biography so it takes awhile to get through, but the lessons are worth it.
