I thought it would be fun to go through my camera roll and find the last 10 food photos I’ve captured. I only take pictures of food if there is a special memory associated or it is a recipe I want to remember. These are some of my all-time favorite vegetarian culinary experiences:
- Sweet Paris Creperie– Houston, Texas
This peach crepe was superb, but the best part about the experience is the French-themed atmosphere!
2. Frutta Bowls– Dayton, Ohio
They have a large menu of smoothies and acai bowls. The nutella drizzle on top definitely stands out.
3. Imagine Vegan Cafe– Memphis, Tennessee
This was my first trip to Memphis as a vegetarian and I was pretty worried about the BBQ temptation of the city. However, I found this place and satisfied every craving!
4. Local Honey in Cultivation Food Hall– Jackson, Mississippi
Cauliflower potato salad and the best avocado toast I’ve ever had. This inspired me to make my own avocado toast at home (secret ingredient is red pepper flakes).
5. Terrace Cafe in the Beau Rivage– Biloxi, Mississippi
This is a terrible photo- but veggie and cheese omelettes is one of my favorite ways to get protein in. Those hash browns were also some of the best I’ve ever had.
6. At home!
Super easy toast with almond butter, peanut butter granola, and a honey drizzle. Great breakfast or afternoon snack. Pepperidge Farm 15-grain bread is my favorite to use for toast.
7. The Greenhouse on Porter– Biloxi, Mississippi
This place is famous for their biscuits and rightfully so. They offer a savory and sweet option (I got both of course) and pour over coffee. Oh, and did I mention it is inside a greenhouse?
8. Central Station Grill– Starkville, Mississippi
They have incredible brunch and the french toast is my personal favorite. In the South it can be hard to find vegetarian brunch, but they have it covered!
9. Whiskey Kitchen– Nashville, Tennessee
This is located in the Gulch, a great place to visit for Nashville first-timers. The avo toast is topped with watermelon radish, definitely unique!
10. Crawfish Boil at Cathead Distillery– Jackson, Mississippi
Confession- the only thing I cannot give up with the vegetarian lifestyle is crawfish. This is a staple of Southern gatherings and the only thing I will compromise on.
